Asuka Chieri is a cheerful girl who loves skating. It is no wonder that she is daughter of a former All-Japan Skating Champion and Olympic athlete. Chieri lives alone with her father in a cozy house since her mother died when she was only 6 in a plane crash. On the wall of Chieri's room is a poster of Masanori Tsuzuki, her inspiration and former All-Japan junior champion who mysteriously disappeared from the ice skating competitions after the win.

Chieri loves reading her daily horoscope and always wears her lucky crystal necklace that was once her mother's.

Tsuzuki reappears in Chieri's life and is soon transferred to her school to class 2-2, Chieri's class. Tsuzuki and his friends train Chieri, the class president, for a skating show to be held for the school festival. Chieri reveals to be an extraordinary ice-skating prodigy. However, The Cherry Project, the plan to train Chieri into Tsuzuki's partner becomes a failure as the fast-paced routine creates a terrible flaw in Chieri.

The Cherry Project soon takes another route and Chieri must overcome tremendous obstacles, not only extrinsic, but intrinsic as well.
