Akiyama Kouichi is the other good friend of Masanori Tsuzuki. Like Tsuzuki and Hiroshi, Kouichi is well educated about ice-skating rules, policies, and techniques.

Kouichi's sister is Akiyama Canty (Princess). Kouichi's father is the manager of the Takanawa Wing Skating Club and thus Canty and Kouichi have special access and privileges to the skating rink.

Kouichi, like Hiroshi, transfers to Chieri's school to help Tsuzuki with the "Cherry Project." Kouichi is the more carefree and sympathetic of the three boys from Green Garden Academy. He often makes jokes and plays around with Chieri. When Chieri is at her weakest and lowest level, it is Kouichi who expresses his care and sympathy the most.
